The capital of Liguria is preparing to become the world capital of recreational boating once again. From October 1 to 6, 2026, Genoa will host the 66th edition of the International Boat Show, an event that marks a strategic turning point this year, packed with structural innovations and record-breaking numbers for the entire marine economy supply chain. Organised by Confindustria Nautica, the event will welcome visitors, boat owners and industry professionals to a setting that has been radically transformed by the eastern waterfront designed by Renzo Piano.
Dates and the New Strategic Positioning
The decision to move the traditional September dates to the first few days of October is the result of a specific marketing strategy agreed with the local community and institutions. This change in timing has made it possible to further expand the range of attractions on offer, making the exhibition spaces more accessible and facilitating the arrival of larger vessels.
The health of the Italian boating sector, which has exceeded €8.6 billion in total turnover, is clearly reflected in the figures for this year’s event:
– Over 1,000 boats on display.
– 215 absolute product innovations and previews.
– 45 countries represented from five continents.
– Water display area increased by 4% compared to the previous year.
The event confirms its formula based on five multi-specialist boat shows: Yacht & Superyacht, Sailing World (dedicated to sailing), Boating Discovery (for outboards), TechTrade (components and electronics), and Living the Sea.
Superyachts and the New Blue Arena
Among the most highly anticipated logistical innovations this year is Dock H at the Waterfront. This area has been specifically set up to host five mega yachts ranging in size from 35 to 50 meters, complemented by an exclusive lounge and an aeronautical display curated by Leonardo. Concurrently, to bring new generations closer to the world of seafaring, the Blue Arena makes its debut inside the Palasport. This is a free-access space designed for startups, youth training, and debates on the ecological sustainability of the sector. Among the new features is also ‘Fuori Salone 2026’. The Boat Show is not confined to the exhibition grounds, but extends throughout Genoa thanks to a packed programme of city-wide events organised by the City Council and the Chamber of Commerce.
Genoa awaits you!
